UBC MIX Announces First Partnership!!!

I’m pleased to announce UBC MIX’s first partnership: Science One Biology and HIST 104!

This partnership is a great one and the faculty involved are certainly diving into it head first.

There are several components to this partnership. I’m going to go ahead and outline what the plan is.

Obama and the Bottomless Bailout…

If ‘bailout’ was the word of 2008 then word of 2009 is shaping up to be ‘mistake’. Or perhaps ‘regret’ depending on your political affiliation. As the world economy begins remains on shaky ground the billions of dollars thrown at GM and other auto companies to help stave off complete collapse is looking less and less like a good investment.

On Freedom, Liberty, and Being and Old Racist

Wednesday’s horrific shooting at the the US Holocaust Memorial Museum casts some light on a stark reality of our world: there are still people out there who are bat-shit crazy.
James von Brunn shot a security guard at the Museum (only blocks away from the White House) before being gunned down by other security guards. Apparently, he was convinced of a Jewish led conspiracy allowing the government to take away his guns. Von Brunn, a holocaust denier, left a note in his parked car that read “You wanted my weapons — …
