UBC Prioritizes Octogenarians Over Student Life

A proposal went though recently to put a hospice on campus. This seems like a great way for UBC to make some extra coin on some of the campuses unused land. Problem though – one of the proposed sites for the hospice is behind St. John’s College – right next to first year residence Place Vanier (check out the proposed site here and the rest of them here). Obviously, PPPAC (the group with the responsibility to vet many of the incoming proposals) don’t have their heads screwed on straight.

UBC MIX is hiring!

Dear Terryverse,
If you have been following Terry for the past little while you will know that come this September, UBC MIX will be ushering in its first partnership between Science One Biology and History 104.

In order to help facilitate this partnership, we will be hiring a Graduate Academic Assistant for first semester. The involved work would be about 25 hours over first semester and would include marking of integrated assignments, curriculum development, and preparing a final report on the (inevitable) successes of the pilot.

UBC MIX Announces First Partnership!!!

I’m pleased to announce UBC MIX’s first partnership: Science One Biology and HIST 104!

This partnership is a great one and the faculty involved are certainly diving into it head first.

There are several components to this partnership. I’m going to go ahead and outline what the plan is.

UBC MIX Update

Although, I would love to apply the famous words of Mary Shelly’s Dr. Frankenstein, “Its alive!!!” to the 2008 Wish “Its still alive!!” may be more accurate.

Many of you may have thought the contrary. Thought that no work had been done on the Wish and it had slowly disintegrated in the minds of those who were supposed to guide its progress from wish to reality. Well fellow Terry supporters, I’m here to tell you that this is not the case.
